The Exordium
Holy Qur'an, Sura One
1. In the name of God (Allah), the compassionate, the merciful.
2. Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds.
3. The compassionate, the merciful.
4. Master of Judgement Day.
5. You alone we worship, and to You alone we pray for help.
6. Guide us to the straight path.
7. The path of those whom You have favoured.
(omitted - 8. Not of those who have incurred Your wrath, nor of those who have gone astray.)
