The ongoing tale of the son
of a Nazi art dealer, Cornelius Gurlitt, and the trove of paintings found in
his flat also continues.
At the start of the week,
he said he would not hand the paintings over. This was followed by prosecutors stating he could keep some of them, leading to outrage among Jewish groups.
Finally, on Thursday night, authorities released the names and photos of some more of
the 1,406 paintings found in Gurlitt’s Munich flat.
Turning to the bizarre, it
emerged this week that Hamburg’s troubled Philharmonic Hall, which has gone
massively overbudget, managed to spend €300 on a toilet brush.
Meanwhile, if you are
reading this from Bavaria, well done - you are officially living in the area with
the country’s sexiest accent.
Finally, if you are clean
shaven today, raise your razor to this man, Artur Braun, who helped pioneer the electric razor and died this week.

McDonald's
tests first German home delivery
The prayers of the hungover
have finally come true - at least for the happy heavy drinkers of the west
German city of Osnabrück, where one McDonald’s restaurant has road-tested the
country's first McDonald's delivery service.
